"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

Practicing with some small projects helps in the beginning, like modeling a shelf, maybe some kitchen utensils, cups, plates, tables, chairs, try out something you haven't before too, each time you open blender, the sculpting tools are good to play around with too, especially when you wanna make character, like an alien or even a person, make a base mesh and then do the more complex details with the sculpting tools.
